Okoboji Weddings Bridal Affair

For any engaged couple, the Okoboji Weddings Bridal Affair on Feb. 17 is the place to be. There will be over 40 vendors showcasing their talents, whether they are a DJ or a caterer. There are cake designers, bridal gowns, and even a limo service.

Held in the Wimbledon Room at the Arrowwood Resort, engaged couples and their families have an opportunity to connect with a variety of services all in one location.

Grand Occasions serves as the overall host and works hard to make it a special event.

This is the third year for the bridal affair and it continues to grow in popularity.

“It’s really a win-win because we provide brides to the vendors and vice-versa,” she said. “Really, the products sell themselves and the connection a bride makes with a vendor is what fills bookings.”

This year Sheila is focusing on the four Okoboji seasons – winter, spring, summer, and fall.

“An Okoboji Weddings – for all seasons!” she said. “We want to show that Okoboji is really the ideal location for a wedding and it can be a beautiful day, no matter the season.”

A highlight of the day is the cake dive event, which is a competition between four entrants. They are provided with capes and goggles, and the goal is to eat their way through a wedding cake to find a prize. The prizes have been provided by different vendors and the cakes are designed and made by Playful Cupcaketions.

“It is such a fun day,” Sheila said. “We just want to make it special and filled with lots of love.”
