People We Meet on Vacation by Emily Henry
I have so much to say about this beautiful book! First of all, I was in a huge reading slump before I picked it up, barely reading at all. People We Meet on Vacation by Emily Henry could not have been a better choice to pull me out of that slump. All of the stars, all the feels, all the fun escapes and all of the laugh out loud moments!
My summary:
Poppy and Alex meet in college and they really had nothing in common. Alex is a total introvert who would prefer to stay at home with his cat, Flannery O’Connor, and read books. (We love this obviously.) Poppy is a travel loving woman who wants to see every amazing thing in this world. Despite their differences, they become best friends and share an epic vacation to reconnect every single summer. That is until Croatia, when everything becomes awkward and they stop talking...for two years.
My favorite thing about this book was the natural witty banter, plus the vacations all over the world. It was fun to escape to the streets of New Orleans then to the vineyards of Tuscany then to the mountains of Vail. Alex and Poppy have the best dynamic, and this book is the ultimate summer read. I recommend this to everyone and I know this will be one of my favorite reads of the year.
Forever Wild by KA Tucker
This book was the perfect little follow-up to Wild at Heart. The only thing I didn’t love was that I needed another 400 pages with the two main characters, Jonah & Calla, rather than a novella. However, even with it being short, it transported the reader right back where we left off in their Alaskan world with all of its perils and excitement. Their relationship is as full of bumps but also as fiery as ever! I seriously love their dynamic.
The Simple Wild, Wild at Heart and now Forever Wild are at the top of my favorite books. I’m such a huge thriller fan and typically sprinkle in historical fiction sometimes a little fantasy but every once in a while, an amazing romance comes along and steals my heart.
I’m daydreaming about these books being turned into movies, and I highly recommend them to romance lovers. I can’t wait to read more from KA Tucker and I hope for more Alaskan adventures from her!
