Kylie’s Book Nook
One Day in December by Josie Silver
A perfect festive drink & a perfect Christmas read!! Absolutely loved this one.
"Laurie is pretty sure love at first sight doesn't exist anywhere but the movies. But then, through a misted-up bus window one snowy December day, she sees a man who she knows instantly is the one. Their eyes meet, there's a moment of pure magic...and then her bus drives away…
Certain they're fated to find each other again, Laurie spends a year scanning every bus stop and cafe in London for him. But she doesn't find him, not when it matters anyway. Instead they "reunite" at a Christmas party, when her best friend Sarah giddily introduces her new boyfriend to Laurie. It's Jack, the man from the bus. It would be.”
What follows is ten years of love, loss, and life when your best friend’s boyfriend is actually your long lost true love.
I loved this rom-com with fantastic, memorable characters and the audio made it even better! I feel like the span of ten years allowed for character development and transformation you don’t normally see in a romance novel. I was so invested in each of their stories and wow so many heartbreaking moments along with lovely moments. Ahhh I could even go for a follow-up novel!
Though I felt it dragged on a bit at times, the ending redeemed it entirely. Maybe one of my favorite endings ever! This one will stick with me for a long time.

In A Holidaze by Christina Lauren
Once you dive in with Christina Lauren, you will be transported to a magical wonderland full of festive traditions that will make you long for snow!
"It’s the most wonderful time of the year…
but not for Maelyn Jones. She’s living with her parents, hates her going-nowhere job, and has just made a romantic error of epic proportions. But perhaps worst of all, this is the last Christmas Mae will be at her favorite place in the world—the snowy Utah cabin where she and her family have spent every holiday since she was born, along with two other beloved families. Mentally melting down as she drives away from the cabin for the final time, Mae throws out what she thinks is a simple plea to the universe: Please. Show me what will make me happy.”
Boom! Mae is sent into a time loop that resembles Groundhog’s Day and she must figure out what the universe is trying to tell her about what will make her truly happy.
Christina Lauren is an author that I kept meaning to read and now I will certainly read all of her books. This is the cutest book ever! There are tons of laugh-out-loud moments, crazy family dynamics, cute Christmas traditions and even a memorable love story + some steamy moments.
I’m finding myself wishing for more about this family & I’m hoping they revisit Park City for future novels!
5 STARS for In a Holidaze, the perfect Christmas-y book to add to
your list.
